Flu Vaccine Infographic

I have been taking online courses whichever that tingles my curiosity and interests – one of which is infectious disease. Dr. Rishi Desai provided four short videos on Khan Academy that gives you information about flu vaccine:

  • Vaccine Efficacy
  • Two Types of Flu Vaccine
  • Risk and Benefits
  • Antiviral Drugs for the Flu

Here are the notes while he is discussing the course I made using Piktochart.

Facebook Data Visualization

One of the key providers of Big Data is social media and if you know me personally, I am very active on these sites especially Facebook. Normally, I would use Wolfram Alpha to conduct simple regression and mathematical operations where Excel could not handle without using any statistical software until I was forced to learn R language (by the way, if you have time, make time to learn this language – it is very cool).

Anyway, today, I spent my workday learning how to use RapidMiner to do simple text analytics and converting it to a sensible Sentiments Analysis using customer feedback from surveys. As far as my self-training goes, I have just reached progressed of making a vector count of most frequently used words yet I have not created any graphs nor even a simple word cloud. Tell you, becoming a data scientist is really challenging.

Back to my post – Wolfram Alpha offers a free report generation of the basics of your Facebook profile. If you have any questions in interpreting some of these charts, you can ask me or you can always count on Google.

Disappointment

Disappointment

I have been away for so long because of work and some personal matter – and these are always my alibis. Anyway, I just renewed my host and I think I will be sticking to this for a long time.

Disappointment

Disappointment

Disappointment – as the equation shows, two major variables are considered. The numerator, expectation; the denominator, reality. Let’s do this mathematically. Assign a value to both numerator and denominator, then, multiply it by 100. If your quotient is more than 100%, you will be most likely disappointed. The farther your value goes away from the baseline of 100%, the more disappointed you will be.

Face it, that’s why it is called reality.

This year has not been a good one. It is almost December and I am looking forward for a new year full of hopes. I know this post came too early for the New Year’s Even and I will most likely post an emotional personal rant on the 31st of December. It is just that things today didn’t turn out well – four of them.

Oh, well.
