Xiao Long Bao at Paradise Dynasty

It is weird that I have eaten more Xiao Long Bao when I was in the Philippines compared when I arrived here. Believe it or not, earlier was my first time here. There are scattered Din Tai Fung at major malls but I just didn’t care about going in. Maybe, I got used into dining this favorite dimsum when I was still with Rui.

Earlier, Vange and I went to Paradigm Mall at Kelana Jaya. Paradise Dynasty is offering The 8 Legends of Xiao Long Bao. We didn’t order it, why? Because we knew that we would be fighting for the assorted colors/flavors. Ergo, we ordered the original. Besides, I knew it would never disappoint us.

We just couldn’t believe we ordered too much. From the picture below, I even forgot to take a picture of the Sweet and Sour Pork. Hahaha. In order are Fried Noodles, Sliced Pork in Signature Pork Bone Soup and Scallops with Scrambled Eggs.

And guess what? We ordered some more! A bunch of dimsum buns, both cooked steamed and fried. Glutton it was!

By the way, some of the food crew do not speak English. So you have to be patient. They have an awesome ambiance decorated with a big buddha at the middle of the dining area and a flowing water the runs from the statue to the front of the restaurant. The area is softly lit with tungsten pin lights which is somewhat irritating especially when they’re overcrowded across the ceiling. Other than that, the budget per person is about 30 to 40 Ringgits. We just had to pay more than 50 each because we ordered too much.

Oh yes, we ended bringing the half of what we ordered home. Yes, half of what we ordered were leftovers. LOL. Maybe next time, we will go for the assorted flavors.

A typical Malaysian knows at least two or three languages: Malay, English and other main language depending on their descent. It could be Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, Hokkien or even Tagalog. Roaming around finding for a good food would be a challenge for me since I could only converse in good English. I tried my best to speak bad, but it is still hard to be comprehended.

When you hit a good spot for a good Chinese restaurant, how would you know if they speak Mandarin or Cantonese or other dialects?

Chris drove me around the place and he’s a personal translator. I bet he would disagree on this.

I have been craving for Xiao Long Pao recently and Kuchai dimsums. Fortunately, when we went to Jin Xuan, these were already sold out. A restaurant that caters to your taste bud for an authentic Hong Kong cuisine.

It was a sunny noon time when we arrived at Puchong. We were at the queue for a quite while but it was not long enough. The waiter called our number in Cantonese. Waiters would bring a tray full of different dimsum to your table in their different colors (I suppose the colors have their own price). So better be careful which you’ll be picking because it is quite addicting.

I didn’t have my camera so this I guess this vague camera shot is enough.

Suzhou

A Xiao Long Bao Experience of Suzhou Dimsum

How I miss going to Bed, Malate to party during weekends and someone drags you to a Chinese dimsum place. Again, not a fond fan of Chinese cuisine but I tend to have exclusive favoritism sometimes. I have not tried a lot of Xiao Long Bao (小籠包) but this is the best I have eaten, yet. I would think that Rui would bring me to the best place, knowing that he likes eating and he is Chinese.

I don’t have their names but I hope these pictures make the most out of what you crave (if you’re hungry at this moment).
